Support from management
The MIT at the time was great but the manager was horrible and didn't know what was happening at the time. She held a diffrent position in the company and dedicated all her time to that. But still acted like she knew what was happening in the shop. Staff where left to feel abandoned with fear of spontaneous attacks for unknown reasons
As a team you felt more like a family.
There really was not forward movement. They would tell you there are jobs but you had thousands of people on the company fighting for two or three jobs at a time.
You are a "lushee" till your not there is a blinder that keeps you thinking everything is going great untill you realize one day there is no growth and that the pay dose not come close to what a specialized person you have to become remembering thousands of ingredients off the top of your head and what they are good for it more complex than any other retail job but you still get paid the lower end of retail worker's wages.
If you manager feels like it they can demote or promote you at whim.
You are required to handle mold dead things old hair anything a customer brings back in the black pots we had tampon applicators and rusty razor blades come back and we had to take these things and dispose of them ourselves. The company has a policy of the manager makes the rules but the are encouraged to never get a complaint so the force the workers to take these unsanitary things.
Suggestions for improvement
- Raise the pay of your staff and have set rules about everything like the black pots where managers are torn by making staff deal with unsanitary stuff or pleasing the company by avoiding a complaint
What I like about the company
They did make you feel like you where giving back.
What I dislike about the company
They didn't pay well. Also the insecurity and lack or movement in the company was horrible
