Luxottica is an excellent company as the Parent company of Sears Optical. My frustration was never with them.
Support from management
Argumentative, indecisive and hostile.
Was never consistent or fairly divided.
Freedom to work independently
Yes and no. This falls under the failure of mangement to be decisive. One minute it's ok to take initiative on tasks, the next minute it wasn't. Or, by taking initiative would result in being accused of failing to do another task. Always felt like a no-win situation.
This was not a problem

Not sure about this one.
Under the right management and training, and a love for this type of work, there are excellent opportunities to move up.
Office / Work Environment
UNORGANIZED, TIME MANAGEMENT was horrible, from over-booking eye exams to letting work get significantly behind, filthy carpeting, poor filing system - cramming charts in to envelopes a fourth of the size of the charts, meaning folding each and every document that needed to be filed with it and over-stuffing them, etc., etc.
Staff and manager were always moody creating a stressful and chaotic atmosphere. Our desks and furniture were shoddy and outdated. The store is filthy and very dusty, but no time to clean when your way over-booked and behind on work.
Scheduling was a disaster, ranging from 3 days off in a row to one day off every 3 or 4 days.
I believe Luxottica has a very good image; however, Sears Optical, has the lowest ratings in sales and positive feedback from customers.
Depends largely on sales.
Questionable, with how filthy the store is, it could be a health hazard, and with the adjacent rooms cluttered from the floor up, could be a tripping hazard.
Neutral on this because I believe I received very poor training which made a lot of work too challenging.

This was not a problem.

- Stronger management, proper training techniques, a nice, fresh and clean store, and attitude improvements overall.
