Are you a Current or Former Employee? Former job since 2015
It is difficult for employees to make a pleasant atmosphere when working for the current office holder. If you talk too much or laugh too much you are addressed with the attitude that nothing is getting done. If you sit quietly with no conversation, management wants to know why everyone is "so quiet". Catch 22. There is no acknowledgement or commending an employee for a job well done, but errors are quickly pointed out. Slippery slope.
Support from Management
The office holder was elected to DO a job. The current office holder does not know how to perform the first duty of office operations. Her image is more important than the customer service provided by the awesome staff. This is the lowest paid job in the building, but it has the highest amount of money in the general fund. Previous office holders were knowledgeable with hands on training provided by current staff.
