Owner threatens to close the place, says he's making no money. Threatens to fire everyone. Says that the employees are screwwing him
Support from management
The motto is "make due with what you have". Workers make tools out of cardboard and bent pallet nails.
The production crew makes it work despite management.
Freedom to work independently
You may work freely as long as you are head down at your work station.
Why communicate when you can intimidate?
Gender equality exists as long as you are female.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The owner thinks a lot of himself.
You were hired for a job. Do that.
Overall compensation for your work
Half what I was worth, but was promised I be compensated after 90 days. Lied.
Office / Work Environment
Friendliness in the work place is frowned upon.
There is only work.
I'm sure it's good looking from the outside. They don't want you to know about the inside part.
I was told on a regular basis by my manager that they needed other people more than they needed me.
Don't get hurt because they won't let the fire department in to help you and will call a taxi to take you to the clinic. This even if your bleeding so bad you soak a toewl. I'm not kidding. Look it up on the OSHA web site. One person had a heart attack and they made the EMT's go through security at the front door 750' away from the victim instead of letting emergency services into the facility where they would have been 50' away. This person latter passed away.
Showing back up is a challenge.

Suggestions for improvement
- Let people who actually no how to run a company run it. One person standing at a podium saying he's going broke and threatening to fire everyone doesn't work. Let the Real engineers design the products, so they work right the first time with out countless revisions. Maybe that way the product can be released before becoming obsolete.
What I like about the company
Good product when it works.
What I dislike about the company
Micromanagement runs amok. Anyone with any Lean manufacturing experience wouldn't see this institution as anything but laughable at best.
