Are you a Current or Former Employee? Former job since 2015
Management/Directors have favorites. If you are a "favorite" you are in the inn crowd and get access to meetings and resources. You get to take long 1.5-2 hour lunches with the "bosses". If you aren't you are one of "them" and your projects will get little/no funding, roadblocks, information you need to do your job will be withheld. If you are invited to a meeting the decision was already made by the "bosses" and the meeting is only a formality/time killer.
Support from Management
If you aren't in the "inn-crowd" you are a second class citizen or worse. A manager indicated that employees walk 2 miles to a work-related conference. Management can be highly abusive. In another case an employee was transferred to another division , and although the official job review was positive and generally everyone was very pleased with the performance the person did in their previous role- the director of the department the person transferred out of made a point to set up a 3 hour appointment to run the person down to their new director.
