Was ever changing
Support from management
It still needs a lot of work to improve.
The employees does there but management aren't wired like that or told to.
Freedom to work independently
No everything you is questioned and then evaluated.
Yes during mass safety, or department meetings, when remembered by management
Yes even before it was MM , TXI started it back a while ago.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Most of that plant has nothing but older folks, been 30, 40 years still working.
no not much advanced for the employees unless management wants to progress
Overall compensation for your work
some departments are paid higher than other departments with less hazardous work, a lot of unfairness there that still hasn't been addressed.
Office / Work Environment
Yes all the lighting was redone in led and the air and heat are sustainable
They have abide by EPA laws so there are complaint for the most part.
Had to work all the time, family took a back seat even though they said Family was first.
I was when it was TXI.
no there is no stability there now. restructuring seems to be weeding out the old timers and decisions are made on a whim. morale is zero. no one feels safe there as for having a job.
MSHA equal to OSHA. you had to train at least 8 hours a year but we had more than that with the mass safety and toolbox talks.
the work wasn't to challenging, management just expected 1 man to do 4 men job, always short handed, kept it like that for years or since 2009, was proud on what we did though.
Inclusive / Diverse
they do enough to get by and keep everybody happy.
Suggestions for improvement
- that's an old plant and with it continuing to evolve, don't expect things to change overnight. you get a lot more bee's with honey than vinegar.
What I like about the company
the plant needed to be cleaned up completely agree with that.
What I dislike about the company
How that went about cleaning the plant was the other issue. to much OCD on one part.
