Suggestions for improvement
- The hospital is currently working to improve employee engagement with the creation of a Young Professionals Group. I think this will help with employee retention and ensuring all staff is aware of what resources are available for career advancement within the hospital. I do not think the hospital currently does a good job of retaining non-clinical staff.
What I like about the company
In my role at the hospital, I have been given the opportunity to advance the state of healthcare nationwide through our research program. My position offers me the ability to work independently, and encourages personal growth. Though the salary is lower than that of other comparable hospitals in the area, the resources provided to employees helps cover the gap in compensation.
What I dislike about the company
The organizational structure of the hospital is very complicated, and not well understood to employees. There are so many levels of leadership, it hard to know who is really in positions to make decisions and who to go to if there is an issue with direct management.
