There is so little trust from the top down. Paranoia rules. Revolvong door or leadership and org charts going on 6 years.
Support from management
They have no idea what they are doing at the top. Middle managment is too worried about their own next paycheck to bother supporting anyone.
Almost completely discouraged (except product developement which has to be). Every person for themselves!
Freedom to work independently
Everything is micromanaged from the paranoid top down.
They do a decent job with this.
I'm sure the women are all underpaid, but hiring practices seem fair.
Right. There is a plan for about .5% of the employees. Those favs that get all the opportunities, promotions, etc. Everyone else is told to feel lucky they are employed.
Overall compensation for your work
For all the nonsense, they do pay well.
Office / Work Environment
They do spend on facilities. Moreso at HQ than other offices.
You have to set your own boundaries and accept the career consequences. They'll take every ounce you are willing or unwilling to give.
I'm sure some surveys will say Barbie and Little People are great, but the truth is as a company we act desparate and out customers know we are. Consumer confidence/interest has beem spiraling for years as our relevance fades.
It's felt like the Titanic for about 6 years now. All morale and security are looong gone. Too bad too. Their Fisher Price division used to be a top rated place to work.
Staying afloat in the mess the company and brand has become is actually a case study in overcoming daily obstacles and achievement. Not recognized or rewarded internally.
Inclusive / Diverse
El Segundo HQ is fairly diverse. Other campuses (East Aurora NY, Middleton WI, NYC) are like loaves of white bread.
Suggestions for improvement
- Elevate long standimg toy employees to the top. Stop treating new aquisitions as milkable assets for short term cash grabs.
What I like about the company
In theory, it's a cool place to work. Fun to talk about at parties!

Most things are just off.
