Culture has a lot of room for improvement. Currently there is a lot of micro management and sticking to old, outdated ways. There are signs of improvement but it will take a while before the culture is marginally improved.
Support from management
Leadership does their best to support but are often too busy addressing customer issues or working with others in the company which leads to last minute over reactions.
Very team oriented within the department. Honesty with managers is respected but hardly appreciated or listened to.
Communications between the departments needs to be improved. You find yourself at odds with the support departments and this can all be traced back to communications and expectations.
Not much room for growth. Managers try to help with addressing growth but it's mainly all talk and often no action.
Overall compensation for your work
Salaries can be improved like most places, although you can renegotiate at your yearly review. Not too much in the way of benefits, you get paid and some vacation but other than that, that's it.
Office / Work Environment
We work in a typical open office cube farm, you can overhear almost everyone's phone conversations. Some are much louder than others, headphones are greatly advised.
Not really applicable but we do not push the environmental factor with customers much, more financially driven.
There is a lot of pressure to come in early and leave late. You are looked down upon by others if you leave at 5, some call this leaving early. Management hasa hard time balancing allowing time off and no, you cannot simply ask for time off any time. Hours are suppose to 8-5, more days than not we work 7:30-6/7.
There are a lot of unhappy employees who regularly deride the company. Seems par for the course but the company does little to change this.
Our managers try to set everything up do you can be replaced should you quit or get let go. This doesn't happen often but is needed so customers are not impacted.
The building is very handicap friendly, no obstacle for anyone with phsyical impairments.
You feel great the first few times projects go well and the customer is happy. It then becomes repetitive and boring. Not much room to keep this from happening.
Inclusive / Diverse
New ideas are not supported much, managers try to stick with antiquated, cheap tactics.
Suggestions for improvement
- Invest more in employee satisfaction and updated IT systems.
What I like about the company
Honesty, it gets the bills paid and you learn about a new industry. The particular department I work in is not known for employee retention and is close to 100% turnover of coordinators.
What I dislike about the company
Sees employees as easily replaceable and will not invest, which is not different than most places. Also refuses to call us project managers because of education and salary expectations.
