During my time at the McKinsey & Company I was given my first real job after college, and I liked that I was trusted.

What I like

I really liked the fact that at this company I was able to grow and really learn what it was like to step my feet into the workforce. During my time I really learned what I wanted from my dream job, and what I would have to do in order to achieve it. While this job may have not been my favorite, I think it was a starting point for my future.

What I dislike

I wish this company cared more about its employees, because it was pretty obvious where there concerns lied the most. I feel like the management at this company did not really diversify, and that caused a weird vibe between some people at certain sectors of the company.

Suggestions for improvement

I would improve the company by starting with management and having a much needed rebuild from within. I would hire more cultural staff in order to make this company more warm and welcoming to new employees of all races.

Bad work life balance. Upper management doesn’t care about you.

What I like

I don’t really have any positive experiences.

What I dislike

The way upper management treats those below them. Amount of hour required. Not flexible in terms of hours.

Suggestions for improvement

More positive culture. Upper management that isn’t condescending and rude.

It is a nice place to work with great benefits, and you work with very intelligent people who are...

Recommended
EmployeeWorked at McKinsey & Company, Inc. in New York City, NY at the time of review.

What I like

They have amazing benefits and pay well. They offer ample training to improve yourself and your skills. Most of the people who work here are friendly and professional.

What I dislike

The fact that they took away the benefit of lifetime healthcare from people who were with the company for more than 25 years but have let people who are here less than half that time keep it because they are older. If they had to take away the benefit, it should have been taken away from everyone who did not have it yet, not still offered to people who are within 5 years of it. Many people felt hugely betrayed by that.

Suggestions for improvement

It would be nice if the managers did not play favorites and if special treatment was not given to certain people. They should manage and oversee the overtime process more closely as many people are taking advantage of it.
