Our Teammates Take Us The Distance
Talk to anyone at McLane and you will hear the word "teammate" used over and over again. At McLane we are a team first and foremost. Our people are our most powerful asset. There is no single individual who is more important than any other when it comes to the success of our company and our culture.
Differentiation Through Stability
At McLane we are proud to differentiate ourselves through our stability. In an industry known for its high turnover and constant change, we have focused on defining our company as one that people can rely on - both customers and teammates. We are sure of our foundation and proud of our strength. We've created a culture where people come to us for not just another job, but for a career. In fact, McLane has some of the longest-tenured (and happiest!) employees in the industry.
Who We Are
Our driver teammates have guts, grit, and a go-getter attitude. Our sales teammates are strategic, influential, and customer-focused. Our warehouse teammates have energy, enthusiasm, and a passion to problem-solve. Our support teammates have spirit, sincerity, and a dedication to service. Our IT teammates have courage, character, and a fierce imagination. And, together, we are driving forward into a future of continued growth, success, and values-driven industry leadership.
McLane is dedicated to fostering an environment that is reflective of the diverse world in which we live, one in which all employees are treated equally.
Our core values and beliefs are ingrained in everything we do, and they speak to our team-centric mentality. Our commitment to our customers’ success also reflects our passion to make a difference in the community. Additionally, our philosophy of mutual respect encourages an inclusive work environment in which we recognize diversity in all its facets. We believe the various dimensions that make up each of our teammates spur innovation and help us stay ahead of the competition.
At McLane we work hard to ensure that our culture instills a sense of pride in every teammate. From our CEO on down, everyone has helped to shape a company that now sets the standard in our industry. We believe everyone's voice is meant to be heard and used to further the mission of the company. We continually encourage all of our teammates to share their thoughts and opinions with us.
At the end of the day, our ingenious improvements begin with our people.
A Culture of Giving Back
McLane teammates embody a sense of pride and dedicated spirit. These qualities thrive in an environment of family and community, and that environment extends well beyond the walls of our organization. We recognize the communities in which we operate by giving back, a concept illustrated consistently through our dedication to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® and the United Way.
The SPARK Initiative
One way we recognize diversity at McLane is through disability inclusion. In 2013 McLane introduced the SPARK Initiative to increase awareness and provide meaningful employment opportunities to people with disabilities. McLane implements inclusion strategies that recognize talent, increase engagement, and drive business results.
Programs under the SPARK initiative include:
Workplace Diversity Hiring Program: To further expand our commitment to cultivating and maintaining a diverse and inclusive workforce, McLane launched a pilot program that provides real-world work experience to individuals with disabilities.
Hiring Our Heroes (HOH): McLane deeply values the sacrifice and impeccable work ethic embodied by our country's military. Accordingly, in 2015 our company embarked on a partnership with Hiring Our Heroes. Initiated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, this 12-week Corporate Fellowship program strives to assist military veterans in making seamless transitions into civilian careers.
Operation Impact Network of Champions: To further expand its veteran reach and leverage its expertise in logistics, information technology, security, maintenance, and business operations, McLane became part of the Operation Impact Network of Champions. Initiated by Northrop Grumman, a Department of Defense contractor, this program focuses on assisting wounded service members who were injured during the war on terror with transition from military to civilian careers.
