Communication between management and workers nonexistent.
Ageism, nepotism, and favoritism. If you are with the "in" crowd, you get ahead, doesn't matter how well you do your job. If you spend a lot of time in the boss's office chatting it up, you pretty much get your way.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Older workers never advance.
Overall compensation for your work
Wages are a joke. The wage disparity is horrible when compared to other hospitals in the same area.
Office / Work Environment
Horrible. Computers are junk. Work areas are thrown together with no order, not thought out well. Makes trying to do your job all the more challenging.
Dust and mold allergy sufferers beware!
Being mandated (forced) to stay over because people constantly abuse FMLA is a major problem here.
Job security? They just eliminated a whole billing department.
Can't even get a larger wheelchair through some doorways. How embarrassing.
I do my job now just to get a paycheck.

- Tap the skills that you have in your existent work force! You get what you pay for, and from what I have seen with the people you have been hiring you are not getting your money's worth. Laziness and total lack of professionalism seems to be rewarded, and the more skilled and experience worker picks up the slack.
What I like about the company
It's close to where I live.
What I dislike about the company
No chance for advancement unless you hang with the right crowd. Forget it if you are an older worker with skills, a degree, and years of experience. They seem to pass over the talented older workers for the younger, much less experienced ones.
