Suggestions for improvement
- I would hire someone to run the school who has an education background. I would also take behavior analysts out of a supervisory role so they can be in the classrooms. This would allow direct observation of challenging behaviors and changes to behaviorsupport plans in a more timely manner. This would also allow the behavior analyst to directly observe direct care staff responding to challenging behaviors, which would improve implementation of the behavior support plans thus resulting in faster improvement in challenging behaviors. Also, if there are more people in the classrooms, everyone will know what is going on and there will be constant evaluation of IEP goals, and quicker changes to programming to help students learn faster. At this company,the method is for all if the supervisors to sit in meetings and discuss what is going on in the classrooms, instead of actually being in the classrooms.
What I like about the company
They have always been very flexible with my schedule and needs. I enjoy working with all of the adults and students with various decelopmental disabilities. Working with them is the best part of the job.
