EmployeeWorked at Methodist Hospitals Inc in Gary, IN at the time of review.

What I like

Have worked for 30+ years and overall been treated fairly

What I dislike

Company needs to look at outsourced management for what they are doing for the hospital, not the promise of what financial savings are. Cheaper is not always better

Suggestions for improvement

Make sure departments have the best equipment

The team work is always good and I feel comfortable with my coworkers for the most part.

What I dislike

I think we need to work more closely to involve change because we cannot make change is everyone disagrees

Suggestions for improvement

I would allow employees to voice their concerns and have human resources work alongside management in order to resolve ongoing issues

EmployeeWorked at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX at the time of review.

What I like

It's a good job with good pay. I'm grateful to have it and to be able to help my patients everyday. I have some really good coworkers and look forward to going to work everyday.

What I dislike

Lots of employees have longevity here which is great but some of those same employees feel like they are management and become lazy in their jobs and often times nothing is done about it. It's frustrating.

Suggestions for improvement

Do classes in small departments on how to communicate respectfully and properly. If there are continues problem people in the dept to take steps to resolve that.

Teamwork

no we hide what is happening around the dept as not to make other employees upset

Challenging Work

It's more challenging dealing with staff that have tenure and should have been let go a long time ago.

Internal Communication

tend to find things out through the grapevine

Freedom to work independently

we used to be able to manage ourselves but lately seems like they want to micro mangage
