I think other departments do well with this, but it is not good where I am.
Support from management
Your supervisors do NOT go to bat for you.. If you screw up, even if it's something they told you to do, you're on your own.
The departments do not communicate with each other well, and member assistance suffers for it unfortunately.
Attitude towards older colleagues
The senior workers in the department are given a hard time because technology does not come as easy and second nature as it does to the younger crowd. I find it unfair.
Small organizations mean little to no movement as far as promotions go, I'm afraid. I brought up that point during the interview and was told it was untrue.. Having been there more than a year now, surrounded by many that have been there far long before me, I can say I was lied to. I haven't seen a single promotion since I started. How am I expected to receive a promotion when there are thirty people ahead of me that have been there for years?
Overall compensation for your work
Salaries are not great as it is a small credit union.
Office / Work Environment
Highly stressful is an understatement.
You are treated poorly if you call out sick. It's very much looked down upon.
People in other departments like the company very much, to my understanding. There seems to be discontent just in the member service center.
It's stable because it is understaffed as it is.
There is an elevator and a front entrance ramp.
They are very good about safety.
I'm not proud of the work because most of it is fixing problems and issues the company creates for itself by having terrible services and products.
Inclusive / Diverse
I will say the company hires a diverse range of individuals.
Suggestions for improvement
- More staffing and a less stressful environment. Happier workers lead to better service. It would also be an easier position if the products and services Metro provides all worked more efficiently.
