I was hired as s sales associate and then moved to the replenishment team. We worked as hard and as fast as we could only to be screamed at, cursed at, and ridiculed, followed by being told to "deal with it, this is a thankless job". We'd unload the truck in the winter on a dock that was barely shoveled and that was full of ice. Nothing anyone on our team was ever good enough, and we were constantly threatened to all be fired. The store manager would curse and yell from the moment she came in; it was beyond rare to find her on a decent mood. The replenishment team manager was majority of the time just as miserable, and between the two of them, I truly believed their only job was to try and make everyone around them as miserable as they were. There was no negotiating or discussing anything with them; just yelling and throwing insults and being told to shut up. It was quite a shame because I actually loved the job itself, and I loved helping customers when the store opened, but it was no way worth the degrading treatment of myself and my fellow employees.
Suggestions for improvement
- More employee surveys about what's going on within the store would greatly bring awareness to corporate.
