They need every single experienced machinist they can get because they're hard to come by these days.
Suggestions for improvement
- No idea what to do about management. They need to stop treating 1st shift like their machining gods or something. Stop treating the off shifts like their nobody's that aren't worth anything because the 1st shift people will always pick up the slack. Stop threatening management and let them be comfortable with their role so they'll be more lax with the floor people.
What I like about the company
The pay was the only thing that was decent. Plus we got a nice amount for profit sharing every year. And you get 10 days vacation a year after your first year of employment. That's about it.
What I dislike about the company
Nobody ever gets disciplined for doing anything. It's a free for all! But if they don't need you or if they can get away eliminating your job to save money they will or if you commit a crime on premises you'll get fired, that's about it. A lot of the machines are old and junky. They would rather fix up the lunch room than fix dangerous machines. Parking for 2nd shift employees is a nightmare! They fire their plant managers every other year because upper management is so afraid they'll get fired for low production numbers so they blame it on the plant manager to save their job. This all trickles down to the floor people. It's very loud, stressful and dirty in some areas. There's a lot of clique favortism amongst the employees on the floor and the supervisors. You either fit in with the clique people or you're treated like garbage. I wanted to quit so many times that i couldn't even count. I finally got fed up because of my supervisor trying to make me run a dangerously malfunctioning machine. Stay away from this place. They have a LOT of problems!
