Trust no one!
Support from management
No support with "favored" children despite violent behavior
Some co-workers are helpful but there is a lot of backstabbing to gain favoritism
Freedom to work independently
You are completely on your own for just about everything
You are provided little to no background on the children. Results do not mean anything because you lie to the parents anyway.
I would say this industry is actually more discriminatory towards males.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Doesn't matter how long you have been there they treat you just as badly
There is no support to advance yourself and any attempt is seen as an act of war
Overall compensation for your work
Way under paid, staff are barely able to support themselves yet the price of enrollment keeps going up and there are no new educational equipment and the food is as cheap as it gets. There basically are no benefits
Office / Work Environment
The conditions are horrible. You are given teaching equipment that is aged and missing most of the necessary pieces and you have to purchase replacement pieces because it is never in the budget but in assessments you're still at fault for not having them. The computers barely work and are set at a children's level of comprehension. Rooms are nearly always out of ratio.
While the company claims to have research backing their methods they are extremely blind to actual development and discipline guidelines
Do not have a life outside of the school. You will be called in early, held late, and then will have 3+ hours of work after you get home because there was no time to do it during your planning time, because you never get to have your allotted planning time.
I have not met a single person who works/worked there that would recommend them, company wide
As long as you never need to miss a day and always keep your superiors happy no matter what is being done to you; including being hit, kicked, hair ripped out, spit on, had obscenities thrown at you, being bitten, being peed on, etc. (and that is just the children let alone their parents) your job is secure
If you survive a day without ten bruises and three bleeding wounds it was a safe day
There is no accomplishment, it's all about survival. When you do see growth in the children you're reminded that you failed at this or that.
Inclusive / Diverse
You get no thoughts or opinions, you do what you're told or suffer the consequences, i.e. Having your work life made miserable
Suggestions for improvement
- There is no area that doesn't need improvement
What I dislike about the company
I liked some of the kids
