Like I said this job is not for the faint of heart. Do not go in expecting to make friends.
Support from management
There was not as much communication as there shuld have been and the owner seemd to take a back seat on almost everything.
Understandably not everyone is going to get along all the time but that should not get in the way of a persons performance and when trying to rectify the situation there should not be very obvious favoritism.
Freedom to work independently
In retrospect there are many things that need to be done in this line of work, however it would seem that at times the work load is a bit unfair for the aids.
There is some communication but not in all things always ask if what you are doing is correct just to be sure or you may find out about it after the fact and made to do it over again.
As far as minorities being hired is not a problem but the difference in treatment for someone who has been there for some time as opposed to someone who was just hired is quite vast and unfair. You could say many rules don't apply to them.
Attitude towards older colleagues
It really depends on who you look at there is much favoritism for older employees. Yet not all have that and not all employees are treated fairly. Weather you have woked there 5years or 15 years.
There is some but only if you have your BA which is really anywhere you go.
Overall compensation for your work
No really you get the state mandate time off depending if you are full or part time but really not much else to speak of other then the vision that you have to pay for.
Office / Work Environment
There is not a lot to chose from when it comes to material for helping the children. As well as play things. The supposed play area that is in the back of the school that has a slide and other play things is overun by cats and has not been cleaned in what seems years. Thank goodness they do not allow the children to play there but do not let them fool you in to thinking that the state of that play area will ever change.
The owner is really understanding with any time off you may need but eather does not know or care about any backlash the other staff might give you for doing so.
It depends on who you talk to but it has a lot to work on.
There is not any kind of system that is followed that would result in you being fired, and the only one who can do that is the owner. However you really just need to talk to him and not anyone else if you feel people are trying to get you fired or harassing you.
The work is fairly easy but not always for everyone.
Inclusive / Diverse
They have been doing things a certan way for quite some time I seriously doubt that will change you could say it is a good and bad thing. It is constant however, there needs to be a change at times in how you interact with the children, and that does not always happen.
