Micro-managed by upper management, no transparency, feeling of being dispensable, toxic culture
Great co-workers, catered luncheons ever so often, jeans on Friday
Our team was very tight and worked well together.
It was management that tried to interfere by pitting one against the other (an example is that one team member was exclusively invited to a meeting that all should have been and was told to not share any info with the rest of the team).
Freedom to work independently
Micro-managed too often
Our team asked to attend seminars in which would enhance our skillset and productivity - was declined.
At-will employers have the advantage of firing you for no just cause. I watched many co-workers get escorted out that had no idea their job was in jeopardy. If you do not fit in with upper management, they will replace you.
The work became very routine and much of the fun of being a creative was taken.
Suggestions for improvement
- I am still in contact with others that are still employed there, and they have mentioned the culture is evolving into a more satisfactory workplace. They have had many many terrible reviews on employee review sites and must be reading them, and trying to correct the issues. I would say to them: Your team is your most valuable asset. You will get much better results if you work with them than against them.

What I dislike about the company
The pay was sub-standard, lack of feeling appreciated, management styles were lacking leadership qualities, definite feeling of "chain of command", lack of transparency
