What I like about the company
Workers are tight knit and accepting of others. As a father of a growing family with a disabled wife, some of my fellow employees have stepped up this holiday season, and out of their own pocket helped me provide a good Christmas for my children. I didn't ask for this, they are just helping out of the kindness of their hearts. The employees are the heart and soul of this company.....I wish I could say the same about most of our management. Not to say they are bad people, but I think corporate puts them in positions that may limit their humanity.
What I dislike about the company
Our credo is Nothing is more important than health and safety, not production not sales not profit. I'm not naive. Profit is always #1. And to that end, production will always be king. But why make this your credo and ramble it off daily, plaster it on the walls of the facility, and make your employees chant it at meetings, only to ignore it. It is a slap in the face to every employee to preach safety, and then ask them to disregard it every step of the way. I hate safety standards, they get in the way of me doing my job efficiently, but employees shouldn't be told to do something by one manager and get yelled at by another for doing it. Maintenance is non existent. Ventilation is non existent. Machinery is malfunctioning or improperly/never been installed, and tools needed to perform our jobs efficiently are not to be found. There is currently no permanent warehouse. The entire facility was rushed to be built, and not thoroughly thought out. We will work the kinks out, but a little more planning would have saved the company millions, and the employees spared a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.
