Suggestions for improvement
- Overhaul the entire management team and hold individuals accountable for their actions. Quit rewarding incompetence and work on retaining individuals who make a real contribution.
What I dislike about the company
Unlike other institutes under the NIH, NIDDK has a chronic, systemic problem that starts from the top down. The buddy system lends itself to unsubstantiated promotions of individuals not capable of performing at the high standards implied. The hierarchical mentality ensures anyone without a particular title is dismissed and encouraged to keep quiet.
