Maybe better than no job

Company Culture

There is no company culture, they seldom promote from within therefore the culture at any given store will be that of where ever the new manager came from

Support from management

Front line managers have almost no authority as every secession is micro managed from home office management

Teamwork

At least in my location teamwork is very important as we are given such a low payroll to work with we have to work well together to stay above water

Freedom to work independently

Workload is fairly distributed as much as possible considering there is usually nobody to distribute it to

Internal Communication

There is a lot of communication from stores to top but very little feedback

Gender Equality

It is a better place for women than men

Attitude towards older colleagues

It is a bad place for seniors, I know of several experienced managers 50+ who have been passed over for promotion for younger less experienced candidates. Others have been forced out altogether

Career Development

Career development is non existent.

Overall compensation for your work

Wages are low, mostly minim wage, and it is not a lot better for assistant managers. For store manager and above it gets better but they still don't give raises

Office / Work Environment

They don't take safety or customer service seriously

Environmental Friendliness

In six years I have never heard it mentioned

Work-Life Balance

There is no balance, all employees are expected to be available 24 - 7 but our needs are not considered.

Company Image

The company image among most employees is that they are very greedy. It does seem accurate

Job Security

It is hard to answer this because it is a private company and they never share financials

Handicapped Accessibility

No and I don't know of any disabled employees

Workplace Safety

They provide no safety training and are very slow to replace unsafe equipment

Challenging Work

The work is very challenging, especially when you are not given the tools to do your job

Inclusive / Diverse

New ideas are completely ignored, or if the District Manager likes an idea, they take the credit

Suggestions for improvement

  • Develop a program to build a company culture through retainment and internal advancement. Utilize the talents of the people you have. Reward the hard work of your people so they will continue to want to work hard

What I like about the company

At least I'm working, and I work with some good people

What I dislike about the company

They are not honest with their employees about advancement. They don't give raises. They expect a lot, which is fine but give nothing in return, it's all for them.
