competitive more than team building
Support from management
The clients are number one and I receive the support I need to do my job.
Team building was encouraged
Freedom to work independently
Employees were encouraged and trusted to work independently
The women were always respected and treated fairly to my knowleadge
Attitude towards older colleagues
I saw that younger staff even if a recent hire were given advances over older staff. Be watchful when you turn 45.
Only for a select few.
Overall compensation for your work
It is what it should be for the area.
Office / Work Environment
No problems with this
Very environmental conscience
Encouraged to work over-time. Treated cold after having called in for sickness. I had FMLA for migraines but, told to take an aspirin and come in by supervisor.
I enjoy the clients I work with and the medical center does great research. The currently rank 3rd in the nation.
No problem at all
Safety is encouraged and maintained
about what is expected in a medical center.
Inclusive / Diverse
There was a clear culture line and very few minorities in leadership positions. There is few to none nurses of color working in certain areas.
Suggestions for improvement
- Managers and supervisors need to be evaluated anonymously by the staff they supervise.
What I like about the company
The most positive personal experience is being a part of helping children and families during one of the most stressful events of their life. The pride I feel when I tell a person that I work for the medical center and they smile and often tell their personal experience with the medical center. They always give praise and thanks for doing the work I do.
What I dislike about the company
Children's Hospital Medical Center need to revamp their diversity training.
