- New Haven Housing Authority22.Dec 2015
Work climate is was not one of fairness or trust.
Support from management
Very punitive and one sided
Freedom to work independently
Favorites and management reaped benefits for others hard work.
Nepotism, partisanship and cronyism practiced heavily here.
Attitude towards older colleagues
There was a seniority policy in place with union that management ignored to hire out house rather than promote I house with qualified employees.
Educational assistance available but not respected if management or office cliques didn't like the individual.
Overall compensation for your work
Salary was good but benefits were not. Premium was unaffordable for most employees
Suggestions for improvement
- Hire an entirely new management team that isnt based off of sororities or favors owed to family members and friends or hire based on experience and qualifications as a federally funded agency and not like a private company regardless of who they know personally or preferentially.
What I like about the company
They pay decent salaries
What I dislike about the company
Politics, nepotism, partisanship and cronyism being the underlying practices used to make company decisions regardless of the lack of ethics or effect of employee morale.
