- hire better managers.
A decent place to start as a young engineer for exerpience in a production and defense contractor enivronment.
Low salary and low appreciation of employees. There is no difference in recognition or promotions by the company no matter if you are an outstanding employee who accomplishes all projects in advance or a lazy employee who just show's up to sit and gossip at work. The only factors in promotions is "time spent in the company" and if upper management likes you. No emphasis is actual employee performance and successes.
In some departments, women are instantly promoted, not based on ability, but solely on "looking better" for public media that they promote women. Meanwhile, other departments never promote women and they are constantly talked down to. There are extreme issues at HII-NNS when it comes to respecting good employees and gender equality.
