Position Management/executive staff
Suggestions for improvement
- Becoming ISO 17025 certified, understanding that ethics are the mainstay of science, and the owner being present for day to day activities.
I like about the employer
The freedom to be able to work autonomously, but this was solely because the owner wasn't engaged in the science, let alone being there.
I dislike about the employer
It was an unethical experience. Being a scientist, this disgusted me because science is based on ethics. The owner didn't care what you did, as long as you made money. I was the Director of Operations and it was awful. I developed the quality manual because they didn't have one. Loose policies were in place, but the the facilities were a joke and it was a couple of people trying to make money and that's it. Again, no ethics, which is what scientific analysis is based on. The owner always made excuses for why he couldn't show up for work that day. Completely ridiculous.
