Company Culture

Seen the news lately? Still a boys club, only making changes from bad but true press.

Support from management

Managers are only out for themselves, while they promote a "team" attitude, its all about them.

Teamwork

Very little here, everyone is out for their next promotion.

Internal Communication

Left hand doesn't communicate with the right hand.

Gender Equality

Still very much a boys club, sadly though there are female managers who are horrible as they will lead by fear and intimidation.

Attitude towards older colleagues

They are steadily weeding us out, already happened to me.

Career Development

You must make your own path here, the matrix is dead.

Overall compensation for your work

They pay below the industry average knowing people want to work there just for sake of their name.

Environmental Friendliness

Just doing the minimum again they serve Wall Street

Work-Life Balance

This preached, however not the case.

Company Image

The product has gone downhill and fast, they focus on shareholders and stakeholders.

Job Security

None, NIKE is a company.....again they serve Wall Street and have let good people go for the sake of their stock.

Challenging Work

More than what you will be paid to do.

Inclusive / Diverse

Still behind the times, only trying to solve for it now due to recent press articles.

Suggestions for improvement

  • They need a total overhaul of their HR/ER depts. and be it known that there was no coincidence in laying people off before they reached their earned sabbaticals.

What I like about the company

Not much, product is not what it used to be.

What I dislike about the company

The need to practice what they preach.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Be the leader that you wanted as an employee. Research consistently suggests that an employees every day experience, and as a result, perception of where they work is most directly correlated with their relationship and experience with his or her direct supervisor. In a small company, that's probably you. An employee's attitude is a direct reflection of leadership. Leading others is not easy. Reach out to mentors and identify training opportunities to help you develop your skills as a leader. Have a little fun. Being happy at work includes finding your passion, working toward it and having fun along the way. It's about the journey as much as the destination. It also includes sharing your passion with others. No one said that you cannot have a little fun and laughter at work. People spend a lot of time working today. Making the workplace somewhere

What I like about the company

When you think about the perfect workplace, what comes to mind? For some, it may be fellow employees playing volleyball in a sand court just outside the office doors like Google. Or perhaps you think of employees sitting around on bean bags brainstorming ideas and finding solutions to problems in an open office environment. Maybe you are even alone, sitting on the beach with your laptop, working in between quick dips in the ocean. Most people fantasize about the perfect job, the best place to work, following their passions and harnessing collaborative energies to do something meaningful. Or you may just dream of winning the lottery every day. While perks are important, it's most often the culture, opportunities for development, open communication, mission and vision, ownership of work and environment of inclusion that makes the real difference for employees. Yet a juxtaposition appears to exist. Many of the companies at the top of these lists also may make these same employees feel miserable. Why would employees rate their companies as the ideal place to work when, in fact, these same employees feel exhausted, overwhelmed and maybe even become ill due to the long hours and lack of rest and recovery time? According to the qualitative research from the New York Times, today's employees are prisoners of low expectations. And they are worn-out. Provide opportunities to communicate with employees - not just to them. Make sure to provide both positive and constructive feedback. Encourage feedback about the workplace, challenges and opportunities for continuously improvement. Actively listen. Open communication practices will help to reduce silos as your company grows.
Provide opportunities for growth and development. It's part of the human condition - to be productive. People want to grow, develop and be challenged. Through projects and training opportunities, an ideal workplace helps employees to grow individually which may great spillover for your company, cult

While 33 percent of current workers believe it should not matter what time you arrive at the office, as long as your work is completed, only 25 percent of high school students feel the same way. No one knows more than an entrepreneur that time is one of the most valuable commodities in life. In today's technology-driven world, employees can easily stay connected to what's happening with the business without being physically present.
Offer competitive salaries, benefits, perks and promotions. Eighty-seven percent of high school students believe that a worker should be promoted every two to three years, as long as they are performing at a high level. Conversely, only 73 percent of current workers feel the same way. While this is often more difficult for small business owners, think creatively. According to the Glassdoor survey, at Facebook, employees are frowned upon for missing important family affairs. Be flexible. Perhaps employees can work from home or shift hours to spend time with the children each day or go to school. Be the leader that you wanted as an employee. Company Culture

Very low: peers treat other peers as second class citizens

Support from management

No. Management is not willing to accept change.

Teamwork

No. Peers treat other peer workers with no regard as humans. It's shut up and do not talk. do as I say.

Freedom to work independently

No.

Internal Communication

No. the PMO plastic machine operator makes up rules as they want. do not follow standard work.

Gender Equality

sure

Attitude towards older colleagues

Yes, only to fire them because they can't keep up. A PMO stated that the old people can't keep up.

Career Development

No.

Overall compensation for your work

no. they add benefit credit $$ to our "income/earning" as if you received that

Office / Work Environment

NO. No AC, very hot in the shop. Fans' are blowing up into the air not down on the workers.

Environmental Friendliness

their recycle program is a joke.

Work-Life Balance

No. you'll get a "occurrence" an un-excused absence if you leave to see a loved one that is in an emergency. If they're dying and you want to go see them. We were told it's black and white. Very Calais. You only accrue PTO time. from this account you use it as vacation and person time off. there is no Vacation only PTO time. so you use it up right away. Plus we work 11.5 hours but when you take a day off you must use 16. + hours to get your full day pay. so your PTO is used up fast.

Company Image

No

Job Security

of course they won't lay the workers off because they pay soo little

Handicapped Accessibility

there are no ramps at the employee (production)access.

Workplace Safety

No. they override interlocks to keep the tools running. they won't fix any tools that are leaking hydraulic fluid. just keep wiping it up. they won't fix water leaks. Just keep the tools running. You get wet from the pipes that are overhead because the pipes sweat.

Challenging Work

no.

Inclusive / Diverse

no.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Hire new management that is willing to work with employees and listen. be willing to accept new changes and try them out before discarding the idea. give the employees AC and $15.00 hour Not $11.25. Stop making us use 16 + hours to get paid our 11.5 day when we take a day off. give us Vacation hours in addition with PTO

What I like about the company

Nothing

What I dislike about the company

Even though it's in Beaverton Or USA - the moment you start your shift it feels as if you're working for a third world country company. No safety, no listening to employees, give us no AC, gripe when we ask for the fan to be modified so that it blows air on the employees not just up into the air.
