Company Culture

GSM is beyond unprofessional to the point that his antics trickle over to customer interactions & not just employee interactions. He is rude, arrogant, & provides disrespectful/inappropriate customer service! Very toxic environment, which can be seen by the customers on a daily basis as well. Also, extremely limited opportunity with squalor pay! Definitely not worth the time, aggravation, & low compensation that comes along with it! This place has an awful reputation, treats customers poorly & rips them off & is barely functioning as a business at this point! Also, you will get a better deal & better treatment from just about any other dealership, so why put yourself through this aggravation! My prediction is that they will be closed down complete within the next 2 years because they will not be able to sustain their business.

Support from management

They are not supportive at all!

Teamwork

GSM is lazy, you get no support, & they treat you like crap!

Freedom to work independently

You have to, because they certainly aren’t helping you with anything.

Internal Communication

They don’t listen to you. Everything is one sided, & they could care less about you or what you think, even if it is something helpful for the business.

Company Culture

It seemed to be all about "Get the money". I expected that in a car dealership (as should ANYBODY!), but once they get your money, they dont care about you; waranty service might take awhile, and if they don't give you your permanent tags before the 30-day tags expire? Good luck with that!

Internal Communication

Communication usually wasn't bad, but on a couple of occasions, the General Manager (usually a swell guy), actually called my direct supervisor to come in on a SUNDAY, and correct a potential problem he thought I had, instead of walking down the hallway and ASKING me what the problem was. If he had done so, I could've given him a ten second explanation that would be cleared it up instantly, and saved my direct supervisor a trip!

Overall compensation for your work

Pay actually wasn't bad. The bonus structure actually made it worth our while.

Office / Work Environment

Many ups, many downs. I actually EXPECTED that.

Job Security

Practically nonexistent! Once in a awhile, a chunk of people would get the ax , namely when business went on a downturn. I myself got fired on such a downturn.( The fact that I made mistakes didnt help, which is why I'm not upset at being let go). They even fired the floor manager for reasons we're STILL not aware of.

Suggestions for improvement

  • More female salespeople might help (keep in mind, I'm a MAN). And more people in the non-salesfloor office would help as well.

What I like about the company

Even non-salepeople (of which I was) actually got decent pay. A salesperson, even a light or mediocre one, could make some good money.

What I dislike about the company

The looming threat of behind fired for ANY reason, lack of department communication with CUSTOMERS. And the parking was bad enough for customers, let alone the employees. (ANOTHER employee used to park so badly, that he constantly blocked other people in, myself included!)

Company Culture

Leadership strategy changes every day. You can work 14-16 hours every day and it's not enough. You are micromanaged in all aspects of your day to day work.

Support from management

Management is micromanaging you on a daily basis. Support would be trusting you to maintain the strategy and supporting escalation as necessary.

Teamwork

The purchasing teams work well together but it's always running around with your head cut off mentality.

Freedom to work independently

None.

Internal Communication

You will be the last to find out your manager is moving on to a new role.

Career Development

Those promoted are YES people.

Overall compensation for your work

You are compensated well however you are discouraged from using your vacation time, not allowed to work remotely or given the freedom to learn from your mistakes.

Office / Work Environment

Perception is reality is ingrained at Nissan.

Work-Life Balance

There is no work life balance. HR installs policies to improve this situation however leadership doesn't trust their employees and makes a balance impossible.

Job Security

There is job security if you are IN with management.

Challenging Work

Never before will you have such difficult KPI and Targets.

Suggestions for improvement

  • Honestly a management overhaul. Nissan makes great products but they don't trust their employees to implement the strategies.

What I like about the company

I learned a great deal. I was able to travel quite a bit. I became an strong negotiater. I learned a great deal of raw material fluctuations. Excellent car allowance.

What I dislike about the company

Micromanagement, Unethical practices followed by purchasing leadership
