Suggestions for improvement

  • More stream-lining of training in basic job functions. Occasionally employees are performing tasks that they have not been trained for, causing other employees to have go back & correct their work.

What I like about the company

I have been able to work a variety of positions and taken advantage of several training opportunities. The company regularly seeks input from employees and gives serious consideration to what benefits the employees and company. Just one small example is they added a Roth to the 401(k). Also, the company has become at least partially employee-owned.

What I dislike about the company

Sometimes the rate of growth is too fast...a recent purchase of another business is not fully assimilated before another is purchased.

Suggestions for improvement

  • The overall feeling is that the owner of the company is trying to get as much money as possible before retirement.

What I like about the company

8 years ago, we received bonuses for sales growth. Since that time, bonuses have been slowly cut down, then eliminated this year.

What I dislike about the company

Constant changes, poor training for new hires. Jobs cut, remaining employees pick up the slack.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I feel I already touched on this in the last question. Additionally, the small branches need to be just as informed as large branches. Small doesn’t mean unimportant.

What I like about the company

They pay well for my area and offer and ESOP, which is a fairly uncommon benefit offering. They offer fairly frequent raises and a Christmas bonus, which is a very nice thing for the owners to do.

What I dislike about the company

The top management tends to favor the larger branches and ignore the smaller stores. It often seems people who throw a fit or cause a scene so far better than those who work hard andbget along with others. Ultimately, they need to promote the better employees instead of the difficult people and pay attention to small stores as well as large stores.
