Some departments are treated very well and respectful while others are treated like 2nd class citizens. All upper management bleeds "blue" and drinks the kool-aid. If you're not willing to be a lemming, not the place for you. If you can thrive in a communist environment, this is the place for you.
Support from management
Management in cardio/vascular group is a joke. It's the good 'ol boys and girls club in full force.
Every man for himself, enough said.
Freedom to work independently
Micro-management at its best!
Very poor internal communications. The grapevine is the only way you truly hear what's going on which speaks volumes.
Attitude towards older colleagues
You're a throw away. Once you have enough time to be vested in pension plan, that's when you become a target for "new opportunity" which means they will offer same job at half price. They know it's harder for older employees to find jobs and take advantage of that situation.
Very pick and chose as to whom gets career development. If you're not chosen, the only career development you get are mandatory continuing education which is an online study and the only question on the exam is did you read it? When you answer YES....it says you got 100%.
They make exceptions for some to work from home but not others - all doing the same job.
They think they are five stars but are only 2-3 stars at best. When you pay for the studies to be conducted by consulting firms (whom Northside pays), it's in the consulting firms best interest to throw away the bad comments and only focus on the good so they get the contract renewal. You can buy a billboard and advertise anything you want - whether it's true or not.
Inclusive / Diverse
If you're non-white and homosexual, your chances of being hired and promoted are endless.
Suggestions for improvement
- Get rid of management members who have no relevant experience but are included in the good 'ol boys/girls club.
