yes, a ramp that was already there, otherwise they just wouldnt hire anyone who required a ramp.
no, not one bit. Nepotism is really rampant here.
Suggestions for improvement
- hire an engineer and stop letting an overbearing owner just decide what will and will not work simply because there are no checks and balances in place and there is no one to tell him he is incorrect, which he often is.
- i would suggest the managerial hierarchy include someone other than family, there is no outside observation and no one that isnt family in a position to change the culture at all, so it contimues to just benefit that family and disregard everyone else. i have seen people get fired because they are a smoker. not at work, not on the clock, just because it was found out that they smoked away from work.
- these machines require calculations for electrical loads, bolt sizes, material thicknesses, etc. That is left up to the owner who is largely uneducated in the engineering field and frankly, not qualified to make such guesses. I think that any engineering office should have an engineer and not just a bunch of low paid drafters, no offense to drafters, but they are not educated enough either.
