Managers are not trained on how to effectively manage people. Negative reinforcement is used rather than positive motivation. Can be a very hostile work environment.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Ha! It seems that in the last couple of years the goal has been to eliminate older workers and hire younger ones.
No, not at all. There is only so far that most employees can go!
Most of the time it likely depends on your manager, but often some get irritated when time off is requested. And restrictions are set on when and how you can request time off, even for medical appointments.
It's all about image, whether fact or fiction.

Suggestions for improvement
- Do not allow upper management and HR to ignore employee and lower management issues that need to be addressed, such as harassment. The Code of Ethics becomes a joke when you allow (and promote) those who harass others to go on unchecked and unaccountable for their bad behavior. There is absolutely no reason for the work environment to be hostile, negative, inflammatory, and poisonous. Good, long term employees have left because of this! Which is very unfortunate, and speaks volumes about how some NRT/Coldwell Banker home offices are ineffectively managed!
What I like about the company
Great holiday and paid time off (vacation).
What I dislike about the company
Absolutely nothing is done to managers who have a track record of hostility, discriminatory, and abusive behavior. Some are even promoted!
