Suggestions for improvement
- I have tried to keep in touch with some of the folks I used to work with. I know when I left some were talking about retiring early as they were getting loads of work dumped in their laps. Others were trying to tough it out as they felt with their existing medical conditions and the uncertainty of the medical insurance prices they had no choice.
What I like about the company
They pushed the IT staff to the limits, long hours, hard work, very little in the way of a thank you. Management played favorites in the extreme. Towards the end they created a project to get rid of the American IT staff members and replace them with various contracting companies employees. The Staffers were forced to train their replacements. Treated like dogs and then often cut loose with out warring.
What I dislike about the company
One America was always a step or 2 behind everyone else as far as technologies go. Still it wasn't a bad place until they started doing a ton of reorgs and some less talented IT managers became big shots over night. Those folks had axes to grind and I was caught in the cross fire.
