Support from management
Most upper level management is unaware of the political game playing at the lower level management areas.
Upper management does all hands meetings several times a year and only focuses on the positive things going on in the company. One all hands it was said there were not going to be lay offs and the next week people were laid off
Women and minorities are not given the promotion opportunities that the white men are given.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Several older employees were put on performance improvement plans with vague improvement steps and then fired.
There is no set path for career growth. When managers are asked what steps need to be taken to reach the next level they are told it varies.
Overall compensation for your work
Compensation is about 20% lower than other aerospace companies.
The company only recognizes work life balance for it's favorites. In several departments some employees are allowed flexible work schedules and some are not. And it is not based on performance.
Inclusive / Diverse
In one department, three African American employees were demoted with no reason given other than that they were reorganizing.
Suggestions for improvement
- It would be good to have either an all company or department work policy for working from home or remotely.
What I like about the company
The employees that work at Orbital are awesome.
What I dislike about the company
The upper management at Orbital does not treat people fairly.
