This is a top heavy institution. Staff do not have say in the decision making process. Decisions are made and conflict resolutions are done by administration many of whom have a total lack of understanding of staff problems due to the fact most of them have never actually worked first hand as a staff member and experienced the conditions and problems.
Staff who vocalize issues and problems are blacklisted and regarded as problem employees and may influence job security.
Attitude towards older colleagues
OHSU does its best to retire or termiate older employees and even middle age employees. They want young employees who look good on paper, Appearance is a priorityat OHSU. Experience and competencey are secondary to youth, and level of eduaction.
