The company Culture is"Do your 12 hours 6 days week, or get fired."Passing the blame onto someone else is the norm.
Support from management
Supervisors are more woried about keeping their job without having to do their job.
There is very little teamwork.
Freedom to work independently
Employees have no say in who does what. More often than not, 1 person is responsible for doing about 75% of the work, and the rest might get done by the 2 others.
The only way employees know if things are going well in the company is when the owners drive up in a new Corvette, or a new Mercedes.
There is no career advancement whatsoever. Cannot transfer to another department. Promotions do not happen. It is prefered to hire from the outside for management, instead of from within. They will tell you that they like to hire someone with a degree, but even if you have a degree , still no promotion.
Overall compensation for your work
There is no sert pay scale,. If you start on Monday, your pay could be different from someone who starts onTtuesday and thiers different from someone who starts onTthursday, even tho you all ahve the same job/title.The pay is 20-30% below state average. Benefit package is ok. But changes each year. depends on what is cheapest for the company.
Office / Work Environment
Very noisy. Earplugs mandatory(bu only enforced when management want to write someone up). Machines are a mix of old and newer. Air conditioning is 24/7/365. Heat is only for the management offices and customer service.
Recently started recycling, and donating to charities.
60-72 hour weeks are the norm. Vacation can be taken anytime with a 3 week notice, and onli foriegn employees can take all their vacation at once. Absolutely no sick time,(vacation cannot be used as sick days.) Familiy emergencies are counted against you on your evaluation.
Managers are the only ones who talk favorable about the company. It is a very management centered company.
You will be an at will employee.
Complies with A.D.A
Safety means nothing. If a machine runs faster with the safty stops disengauged, then thats what happens. If an accident happens, the safety stops are reinstalled and working before an investigation takes place. When the injured employee returns to work, he is let go shortly after.
Inclusive / Diverse
As long as they can get a tax credit for it.
Suggestions for improvement
- Seperate rules for different people needs to stop. Promote from within. The managers that are there need to learn how to do their job, and the job of the hourlies so when they tell you how to do something, they actually know what they are alking about. Less condisention.
What I like about the company
It's a job.
What I dislike about the company
The main thing is the discrimination. Rules ony apply to Americans. Most managers have control issues, and have no clue how to do the work of the hourly employees, but will be quick to tell them how they should be doing their job.
