Staff walk on eggshells because they are not informed and are in fear of losing their jobs if they speak up.
Support from management
No support from middle and upper management. They do not give staff the tools they need to do their job.
There is an atmosphere of everyone looking out for their own back.
Very little opportunity unless you are friends with someone in management.
Overall compensation for your work
Very low pay and poor benefits.
Office / Work Environment
Very poor conditions. All paperwork is done by hand. No computer access to staff at all. Communication is non existent.
Vacation and time off depends on if the supervisor likes you. If you happen to get approval for a day off you end up being scheduled to work it.
Employees are very negative about the leadership but they love the residents they work with.
I have never felt stable at this job.
The actual work can be rewarding, but you have to figure things out on your own.
Suggestions for improvement
- The office people need to actually come to the places where the residents live and see what the staff do. There needs to be better benefits and insurance.
- Stop allowing supervisors to play favoritism.
What I like about the company
I like helping people with disabilities.
What I dislike about the company
The people that work at the office don't care about the residents and the staff. They get upset and blame staff when there is a problem with a resident. I feel like I am looked down on.
