There is a lack of diversity, which is unaccepting of those that do not fall within conventional family or cultural dynamics.
Rather than discussing things in a civil manner, certain employees are believed due to superiority rather than actual facts.
Not all women. More pressure is put on single mothers to take on more than married ones. We're expected to pick up more shifts or work irregular hours.
Office / Work Environment
The thermostat isn't located in the tech area so it's often freezing
There should be more recycling bins and actual recycling service.
Not enough employees to freely take time off
It's a good company, but I don't feel accepted in my workplace.
We'd had adequate training on most of our equipment
Inadequate staffing puts a bigger workload on each person within certain areas of the workplace. This doesn't give the best care for patients.
Inclusive / Diverse
Seniority seems to matter more
Suggestions for improvement
- Activities to help employees learn more about each other or build empathy would be great. Anything that would improve communication between those less willing to try to connect with coworkers that they don't take the time to understand. It's also important to hire a wide variety of employees from different backgrounds (marital statuses, ethnic groups, races, creeds, sexualities, gender identities, etc.). The more diverse, the more welcome everyone will feel, including patients.
What I like about the company
Patient experience is of high importance here and we really care about our patients. It's also a not-for-profit hospital so it gives back to the community.
What I dislike about the company
There is a lack of diversity here that affects the workplace environment.
