What I like

They have really given me opportunity to learn and grow.

What I dislike

I don't really have any at this time

Suggestions for improvement

I think it would be nice to be able to make better use of the building that I work in specifically. Possibly a gym or a daycare for people that have kids or a massage facility like other locations have. I do understand that costs money so that might be why it's not possible but it would be good for moral.

Parkview is a very reputable company and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with them.

What I like

I feel that my management listens to what I have to say and is willing to work together as a team instead of as a boss that "knows all". There are many opportunities for education, often even without seeking.

What I dislike

The cafeteria doesn't serve the healthiest of foods. With the company being so big sometimes communication can get messed up.

Suggestions for improvement

I wish the food could be of higher quality and that communication can be made easier so as to improve the overall experience of this hospital.

I’ve had a good experience at Parkview for over 12 years. I feel like the work I’m doing really makes a difference.

What I like

I’ve met and worked with a lot of very talented people at Parkview and have learned a lot about the healthcate industry and how what I’m doing contributes to our mission as an organization.

What I dislike

I can’t really think of anything. What we are doing is making a positive impact on our community.

Suggestions for improvement

As I answered in the previous question, I can’t really come up with any ideas of things I would do differently.

I plan to leave Parkview, once the pandemic ends. After 20 years, I'm appalled at how we've been treated.

EmployeeWorked at Parkview Health System, Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN at the time of review.

What I like

I've had 20 happy years with this company, but they've treated us like we're disposable during this pandemic. All we hear about is "the bottom line," and how we can't lose money. I'm watching my coworkers at the Access Center get sick and not return to work, while the supervisors joke about the lack of social distancing. I've been offered a measly night shift pay as compensation, which equates to about an extra $20 on my paycheck. I plan to leave when the pandemic ends. My first question to my new employer will be, "What did you do for your employees during the covid-19 outbreak?" Parkview should be ashamed of how they're treating their office staff at the Access Center.

What I dislike

Making me feel like, as an employee, if I die of covid19 tomorrow, they'll replace me next week with a new body. They should probably stop treating their employees like that.

Suggestions for improvement

Bring in OSHA to test the air quality at the Access Center. Bring in the CDC to witness the lack of safety measures during covid-19.

Company Culture

I always thought of Parkview as being a great place to work. After covid-19, my opinion has changed.

Company Image

After 20 years, I've always been proud to tell people I work for Parkview. I plan to leave once the covid19 pandemic ends. They've offered us no hazard pay, I had to drain my PTO, and the leaders laugh when we suggest social distancing at the Access Center. Hospital employees have been given time off without using their PTO due to the pandemic, but not the office workers. We're keeping this place running, and we're slowly all getting sick. This company considers us to be disposable.

Overall compensation for your work

We deserve hazard pay for being forced to work with no social distancing during a pandemic. We deserve to not have to drain our PTO for time off related to the pandemic.

Office / Work Environment

I work at Parkview's Access Center. It is an old factory. It is cold and dirty. There is black dust everywhere. Everyone coughs all day. Many complain about developing respiratory issues like asthma and allergies.

Challenging Work

My job is very busy and demanding.

Internal Communication

The company has been communicating very poorly with its employees during this pandemic. We feel sacrificial.

Covid19 has really shown me how little my employer cares about me. All they care about is money. We're disposable.

What I like

It is a strong, stable company that will be around for years.

What I dislike

They care more about making money than the safety and well-being of their employees.

Suggestions for improvement

Improve morale by directly disciplining those who behave badly.

Office / Work Environment

The Access Center is a dirty old factory that was quickly turned into office space. The air quality is awful. It looks nice, but it's just lipstick on a pig.

What I like

I’ve worked for this company for five years. They care about their employees. I went through a traumatic event in my life that required me to be off for an extended amount of time. I was able to keep my job through FMLA and received pay with short term disability benefits. My coworkers donated pto hours to supplement my short term disability as well. They supported me and let me know we are family in ways I never imagined.

What I dislike

I believe I should receive a higher hourly rate incoordinance of the amount of work I do

Suggestions for improvement

I work in a stressful job setting. I believe they could offer more incentive or gratitude to show their appreciation

The pay for new hires is better than current employees. The Access Center is bleak and dusty. Otherwise, it's good.

EmployeeWorked in Administration at Parkview Health System, Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN at the time of review.

What I like

It pays well and offers stable positions. They are extremely well-known and a huge part of the community.

What I dislike

They pretend that the Access Center is a suitable place for their employees. It needs a lot of work and many of the employees are unhappy there.

Suggestions for improvement

Fix the air quality at the Access Center and allow the administrative employees to work from home during a global pandemic.

Workplace Safety

They need to improve the air quality, but there are never any work related accidents.

Office / Work Environment

They recently moved us to the Access Center, which is a partially renovated old factory. The air quality is awful. There is a layer of black dust on everything. When you look closely at it, you can see that it's tiny fibers. It's also very cold and the plumbing isn't good.

It is a great company to work for but staffing can be a problem. There will be opportunities for advancement.

What I like

There are incredible coworkers that truly care about each other.

What I dislike

The hospital wants and does make a profit. There are great things they do for the community but money still matters. Don’t hide that behind a “not for profit all for you,” slogan. Just be real with employees.

Suggestions for improvement

Adequate staffing that doesn’t force nurses into 16hour shifts. It creates an unsafe environment.
