What I like

The people are fantastic. The integrity with which we do our work and the end product that we provide for our customers is truly the best solution available.

What I dislike

Nothing.

Suggestions for improvement

Just keep pushing forward like we always have.

Company Culture

I have never worked at a place that truly cares about the success and well being of its employees more. They not only talk the talk, but they walk the walk and are constantly upgrading and providing more tools to help us do our jobs better. I love my job.

Work-Life Balance

Working from home is fantastic.

Overall compensation for your work

The potential income you can earn can be life changing for you and your family.

Great culture but extremely challenging workload that leads to an undesirable level of work-life balance.

What I like

Managers are very willing to help you be successful. Training is beneficial and appropriate. Compensation is higher than average in this field. This company is experiencing huge amounts of grow to and is adjusting well.

What I dislike

The work-life balance has much room for improvement. Although, prior to the last two years it was much more appropriate.

Suggestions for improvement

Attempts have been made to un-silo departments, but this has been a real challenge that still remains.

What I like

We always have parties and team building events like a corporate 5K that we take part in, dodgeball tournaments, volunteer opportunities and so much more. We have an incredible support system and you pretty much have to be actively trying to be bad at your job in order to not get promoted or at least get yearly raises. I've had so many jobs before but this is the first time I feel like I have a career, at a good, constantly growing company that cares about me, not only as an employee but as a person. We have quarterly meetings where they let us know how the company is doing and what we can expect in the future. They keep us up to date and they spoil us and I love it.

What I dislike

I wish there would be a way to follow up on some information we receive but that's really all.

Suggestions for improvement

The only thing I would change is that sometimes at the quarterly meetings they give us some information on things coming soon but never really a timeline or updates so we just have to wait and see

Company Culture

I love working for this company. They treat their employees like gold.

Company Image

I love this company and how it interacts with it's community

Work-Life Balance

We get a decent amount of paid time off that increases the longer you stay with the company

Career Development

People get promoted all the time. In less than two years I have been promoted twice.

Handicapped Accessibility

Elevators and handicap bathroom stalls

Overall compensation for your work

I get a raise every year

Inclusive / Diverse

We have people employed from many many different cultures

Environmental Friendliness

We have recycling bins next to every trash can and group volunteer opportunities

Workplace Safety

We have OSHA posters up everywhere

Teamwork

We have team building events all the time

Attitude towards older colleagues

Some older employees are actually given less work if they have a hard time to ensure that they can still work and have a reasonable amount of responsibility

Support from management

I get monthly meetings with my manager to make sure I have everything I need

Office / Work Environment

Our office is a beautiful open concept office with standing optional desks and ergonomic chairs. The break areas are also very well stocked and have really comfy seating

Challenging Work

It involves payroll and taxes so it can be very difficult and sometimes confusing but we have the help and resources we need.

Job Security

If my job were ever in danger I would be fully aware of it

Internal Communication

There are so many processes in place to help employees learn and grow

Gender Equality

All the management on my team is female and there is a very even mix in all leadership

Freedom to work independently

We are required to manage our own work and are given the freedom to do so

Overall I really enjoy working at my company and would recommend working here.

EmployeeWorked at Paylocity in Schaumburg, IL at the time of review.

What I like

Started at this company taking a step back in 'level' to be home and work 100% remote. After less than a year promoted to another role. If you put in the hard work you will be given a shot to learn and grow within the company.

What I dislike

Sometimes I feel you have to participate in too many team building activities outside of work hours. Remote employees have to travel, but sometimes that can interfere with your role when you are in early and out late. Maybe cut back on after 5pm activities and not cram it all in 2 days, move to 3 days and keep it "8-5pm."

Suggestions for improvement

Limit the after 5pm activities and events when possible. Also, when an employee isn't meeting the needs of the company be more open and honest before there is an issue to address (especially if its based off another dept. insight).

Company Culture

Everyone is always willing to share, collaborate, and engage.

Company Image

Overall a great company doing exciting things and a lot of opportunity

Work-Life Balance

Yes, but some roles do take more than 40 hours or you wouldnt get it all done.

Career Development

There are a lot of opportunities, but more limited for remote employees

Handicapped Accessibility

The offices are more than suited for any ADA requirements

Overall compensation for your work

For the industry average it is comparable

Inclusive / Diverse

A lot of D&I initiatives going on

Environmental Friendliness

Not sure on this one, when in the office do not see anything related to this.

Workplace Safety

For those that work in the office I believe they do, I work from home

Teamwork

Yes, but feel some dont do this but it is encouraged

Attitude towards older colleagues

We have all ages and everyone gets the same "shot"

Support from management

Yes, love my current boss and she is always supportive.

Office / Work Environment

Get to work from home

Challenging Work

Recruiting for specific jobs can be challenging to find the right candidate.

Job Security

Doing some reorg as company grows so not sure.

Internal Communication

Sometimes important information is not made available easily, but overall good experience.

Gender Equality

Company is about half women and pay the same as men with the same experience

Freedom to work independently

Never micro managed and expected to be an adult and do my work.

Sets their employees up for failure and does not listen or care when employees are so overwhelmed.

What I like

Does conferences and a great office experience for that so not work remotely.

What I dislike

Over worked and under paid with the new position they forced is all into.

Suggestions for improvement

Give implementation a raise to pay them fairly for being project managers.

EmployeeWorked at Paylocity Corporation in Schaumburg, IL at the time of review.

What I like

Great people working there. Regular volunteer opportunities, some during working hours which you are compensated for. Food days from popular restaurants in the area. Regular employee engagement activities during and after work hours.

What I dislike

The nature of the job was not communicated honestly during job application and onboarding process. High expectations from clients on knowledge of entire software system, tax configuration, government/state/local agencies. With little support from supervisors and managers.

Suggestions for improvement

“Work avoidance” policy is not clearly communicated but is an offense you can be terminated on. I suggest providing more information to employees on what constitutes “work avoidance”. Regular trainings provided are not helpful due to trainers’ lack of knowledge/experience with the actual software. Supervisors and managers and generally unavailable for support but have regular meetings to discuss your performance. Your superiors should be available during business hours for help.
