The company beleaves in negative reinforcement. You can never fast enough.
Support from management
Supervision was just about nonexistent. They just put the guy that's been with the company the longest kind of in charge. No real leadership. Just head aches.
Freedom to work independently
Workloads are always heavy for the new guys. You'll leave work irritated everyday.
Communications is real good. Everybody knows everybody business.
Attitude towards older colleagues
If you worked for the company for 15+ years they love you and you can do no wrong. Just hired and your old, your going to feel unappreciated.
Overall compensation for your work
Benefits are not bad, salaries could be a little higher for some jobs.
Office / Work Environment
Some new equipment, most are old machines that should have been retired 20 years ago. Pretty dirty environment, but to be expected, after all it is a manufacturing company. Noise levels are high in some spots, but you have to wear hear protection in those areas.
Jobs fluctuate with season. A lot of layoffs during winter time. And towards the end of the yearly quarters to increase bonuses.
Accessibility? Yes, if you o ly need to stay on the first floor. Break room is on second floor. No ramps or elevator.
Training videos are watched, and safety person from outside company talks about the do's and don'ts of safty.
NO. Products are pushed through. Quantity over quality is the feelings most people get out of your days work.
Suggestions for improvement
- A big improvement needed is for management to listen when people have concerns and take action. Humoring people only goes so far. And proper leadership would be a vast improvement.
