Rarely is hard work recognized, but blame is quick to be cast.
Support from management
Specific supervisors are ok, but the chain is defective in the extreme.
Interdepartmental cooperation is discouraged.
Freedom to work independently
No communication between departments, even on issues that affect multiple departments.
Company is mostly women, all employees are treated based on where they stand in office politics rather than gender based.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Most people hired are people straight out of college, or those still attending. Mostly due to their willingness to accept a lower salary.
Little to no training, no advancement opportunity.
Overall compensation for your work
Average benefits, salaries are mediocre at best, do not expect raises even after years of service.
Office / Work Environment
Nice office, only complaint is white noise machine which is distracting.
Some efforts were made for charity, but those were stopped.
Good use of vacation and sick hours, however no consideration is given to families when schools and daycares are closed due to weather.
Many issues within the relationships of those in the company, is not a team, but people playing politics.
Financial restructuring and downsizing are constant issue.
Ramps are not provided at employee entrance, but front entrance could be used for those needing ramps.
No real hazards, and very safe area.
Very little in the way of training for new tasks, or opportunity to learn new skills.
Inclusive / Diverse
Diverse demographic of employees but sometimes being diverse is chosen over having the most knowledgeable.
Suggestions for improvement
- Team building exercises both within departments and interdepartmentally. A business should be one team not separate factions playing the hunger games. Offer training and new opportunities for people to learn new skills and cross train. Offer salaries and raises based on skill and tenure, and check who is actually responsible for what when assessments are due to ensure accuracy.
What I like about the company
Excellent location and clean safe office. Relaxed dress code.
What I dislike about the company
Little to no training, opportunity for advancement is next to nil. Office politics are more important than doing your work correctly and in a timely manner.
