DSM did not commend for a job well done evet though my staff was hitting above and beyond all targets. DSM picked favourites and everyone knew it.
Support from management
DSM was not supportive of stores. Seemed to be just this one but it really affected staff moral.
My team worked well but store to store teams did not due to upper management.
Freedom to work independently
I was in charge of the store and my staff appreciated the fairness in my distribution of work.
Was done through email. DSM gave favorites a heads up on certain things and rushed everyone else with it.
DSM favoured men and made no attempt to hide this.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Long term workers were all being phased out or fired.
Unless you were a favourite there is no future in this company.
Overall compensation for your work
Low paying for the job you do and no pau increase at all. Benefits were offered to managers only and you never had time to use them.
Office / Work Environment
No office yet we were expected to complete all office tasks. When I said the backroom was dangerous I was told it was better than most.
None. As manager I was unable to take sick days I was owed and unable to take vacation as no one could cover the store due to high staff turnover.
Need to realize people are not speaking kindly of the company as the bad workers get to stay and the good talented workers are leaving for better jobs and situations.
I made sure my team did by trying to compliment them when they did a good job.

They did not listen to you unless you were a favourite.
Suggestions for improvement
- Give your great employees a future with your company and some security. I now work for the competition and have security and get paid more.
What I like about the company
I loved being in charge of the store and being able to be good to my employees and set them up for great jobs in the future.
What I dislike about the company
I did not like how the DSM treated my team. We were one of the best teams and smarter than the DSM so we were treated poorly and not encouraged to do better so that upper management would not notice us.
