Suggestions for improvement
- If a 'three strike rule' is in the employee handbook, then it should be consistently followed for such things under the said rule. Although in general it works out in most instances, the policy of not getting time off/requesting time off and having to find someone to cover your shifts isn't ideal and quite a headache. I'd suggest maybe implementing some sort of requesting system to make it more manageable for us as employees and less confusing for management. Also, if the way we covered, swapped, and picked up shifts were digitized instead of written in a planner held in the locked managers office, it would be a lot easier.
What I like about the company
When a problem arose between me and a coworker, management stepped in to take the appropriate measures needed and made the work place a more comfortable environment to be in. Have made many connections with not only my coworkers, but also guests who come back just to see me.
What I dislike about the company
Aside from serious misconduct issues, this company could be a lot better at handling disciplinary actions and being consistent with the actions. Many employees get by with being late, not being a team player, etc. without getting disciplined, while a select few get harsh punishments.
