Company Culture

Our brand was built from lots of long term agent's blood, sweat and tears. "Community not Competition" is huge at Pixie and Pirate Destinations. Everyone wants their co-workers to succeed.

Support from management

100% always. I know my Manager or the owner of the company and never more then a email or phone call away.

Freedom to work independently

I work independently every day from the comfort of my home. There are no set hours.

Internal Communication

There are daily and weekly emails. Online meetings. Places to "hang out" together.

Overall compensation for your work

It is a commission based job so you are paid based on what you give and what you sell.

Office / Work Environment

We all work from home so your physical environment is up to you, with a virtual Water Cooler the camaraderie never stops!

Work-Life Balance

Working from home is hard and it can take years for you to establish your own Work/Life Balance. This is easier for some than others and I have finally figured it out.

Suggestions for improvement

  • I have been with the company since it's inception and every year, the company restructures based on feed back from agents. Additional vendors are offered, opportunities for growth. It all is based on what is needed at the time.

What I like about the company

I love that we truly feel like a family. Some of my very best friend, my closest confidents are fellow agents. I don't just know them, but I know their family, their close friends. I love the support we get from upper management and fellow agents. I never feel alone even though I work alone in my home. I know there are numerous people that I can reach out to at anytime if I need help or if I am in a time crunch.

What I dislike about the company

I dislike that there are not more in person bonding opportunities. There are at least 2 a year and I am always part of them. I know that if there were more arranged then less people would be at each gathering, but I can still hope!

Suggestions for improvement

  • Encourage your agents to grow and don't take it personal when they outgrow you or feel the need to move on to an agency that better fits their needs. And grow up a little too. This isn't high school. No need to behave like Mean Girls.

What I like about the company

Many of the women worked together and tried to support each other. It was necessary because the leadership were absolutely catty and retaliatory. I watched many women get torn to shreds by the leadership here.

What I dislike about the company

They did want to see their agents grow too successful. They needed to keep the agents in check enough to have control over them and their commissions. The cut of commission that they pay their agents is well below and industry standard and they limit and restrict you to book a small number of vendors mostly in an attempt to keep you small enough to not consider leaving. If you even hint that you are considering moving on to another agency they will do everything they can to keep all the commissions. I've seen women walk away with nothing just to avoid the legal trouble and stress.
