Support from management
Nonexistent. Employees who ask for help are looked at as unable to do their jobs, even if they are reasonably overwhelmed.
Employees who show willingness to support other teams are looked upon with suspicion, as if they are not doing enough in their primary job if they are seeking to support other roles.
Very poor. Gossip is preferred by management over direct feedback to employees. A senior staff member never had direct communication with CEO in her three years of working there.
Attitude towards older colleagues
Younger employees seem to face the biggest hurdles in being taken seriously.
Overall compensation for your work
Below market average. Attempting to negotiate pay not received well. Potential hires who try to negotiate pay were also gossiped about by managers.
Office / Work Environment
Very tense at times. Stressful.
As much as I believed in the mission, the poor management at this affiliate makes it impossible for me to see the Planned Parenthood brand in a good light.
PPINK often faces budget shortfalls and management looks for reasons to let people go. Lots of turnover, and managers blamed lower-level employees for issues in order to cover themselves when layoffs imminent.
Inclusive / Diverse
Racial diversity is above average for the region of the country, but still not great.
What I dislike about the company
No support for employees struggling with mental health. Very poor communication from management down to mid- and lower-level staff. Very poor handling of employee engagement opportunities. Gossip culture rampant, rather than feedback.
