This housing and remodeling firm prides itself on its work with veterans. As part of its charitable activities, the firm spearheads a national advocacy campaign meant to change how employers approach the veteran workforce. At the urging of Michael Hansen, a U.S. Marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, Power Home Remodeling Group started its own Veterans Affairs Department to help make the company a good place for veterans. As a result, the company's veteran population increased from 2 percent to 11 percent of new hires.
