Suggestions for improvement
- Unfortunately, the owner of the company is the problem. You can't fix an owner who is selfish or who can't be trusted. My advice is to simply go work somewhere else.
I like about the employer
Since it is a small company, there is a lot of freedom.
I dislike about the employer
This is a small privately owned company. To get you to work there, they make promises which they simply don't keep. Benefits are horrible, and the owner of the company knows it, and doesn't care. Although the owner is smooth talking, and appears to be trustworthy, when it comes right down to matters of money, raises, bonuses, benefits, or future work, the owner is not to be taken at his word. Employees are frequently asked to contribute time on evenings and week-ends for the benefit of the company, but are not paid for it - even if they are hourly employees. An employee or contractor of the company, no mater how loyal or dedicated, is clearly reminded that the company exists ONLY for the benefit of the owner. All statements about the future, teamwork, bonuses, profit sharing are really meaningless. In the end, the owner will do what he wants, and clearly everyone is expendable. The rest is just good PR.
