Yes, they great with hiring friends and family members. Yes they do hire older workers too!

Overall compensation for your work
It's best to negotiate your salary at the very beginning of employment. Although they give pay increases if you have a good performance evaluation. Your increase will not be noticeable if you are not a favorable employee. Just that simple!
The university itself could be a awesome place to work if the upper administrative was reevaluated
Administrative Assistants does a variety of work from procurement, HR, accounting, student hire, auditing,travel, budgeting and much more. You are hired to work for a department but is overworked doing other duties that other departments should be doing.

It's the department head way or the highway - If you are a favorable employee(s) your ideas may be heard.
Suggestions for improvement
- NOT all manager BUT most! Talk to your employee(s) with respect and stop showing favoritism.

What I dislike about the company
I didn't like that the upper administrative shows favoritism to certain employees. Their is no support system and the over workload that is put on one individual. Their hiring process totally needs changing.
